My name is Joicy. I am brazilian and have been living in Queenstown since 2019.
I started my businness in 2022, just after finishing Maternity Leave. I am passionate about Classy and Modern hairstyles.
I am also the founder of @wed.content.nz and my hair clients get 20% discount on the 4 and 6 hour packages.
I started Queenstown Female Founders in 2024 with the goal of creating opportunities for collaboration and connection between our local women in Business. Check @queenstownfemalefounders for upcoming events.
When not hairstyling, creating content, getting back to emails and doing chores, you will find me exercising, reading, gardening and if sunny - sunbathing.

Bride and bridesmaids should have clean/dry hair on the wedding morning.
I recommend the following on the night before:
Shampoo twice,
Conditioner once,
Let it dry naturally (only blow dry if the your hair is extremely curly and volumous.)
Plan extra time for hair and makeup.
Send references to the hairstylist of how you want the bridesmaids hair to look. Do that ahead of time.
If you're staying at a Airbnb or hotel, have only close friends/family at your Bridal Party. Too many people becomes loud and messy, making it hard for you to relax.
Have relaxing music playing on the background.
Have a plate of fruit, cheese and some champagne to enjoy with your bridesmaids.
Enjoy the day as much as you can, it goes so fast.
Because 99% of the time is not how it happens. The best thing you can do is have everyone to arrive at the same time for your bridal party and just enjoy the morning together. That way there's no risk of them being late for their time on schedule and if we finish someone earlier we can start the next person who is already there totally available.
Makeup artists and hairstylists are used to working together and we'll keep a good communication and flexibility to see who goes next. As long as everyone is doing something, it will be fine.
Keep in mind that a bridesmaid/ guest hair can take 00:40-1:00 and the there's no way to know exactly how long is going to take in advance, each hair and hairstyle is unique.
Is very important to allow some time for retouches at the end and if not needed, everyone can just chill and have a glass of bubbles.
When choosing a picture to show your hairstylist keep in mind:
Your hair color:
Choose a picture with your hair color. Foils and highlights add texture to an updo, that doesn't happen in a brunette for example.
Your hair length/texture:
Having short, brittle or fine hair will directly impact the hairstyle, even if we use padding and good products + techniques. Talking to your hairstylist prior to the event and showing a picture of your hair + a Inspo picture is the best way to align expectations.
It might be worth considering extensions on your wedding day if volume is important to you.
Hair down:
Does your hair normally hold curls?
Sometimes good products can do the trick, sometimes is just not enough and an updo would be welcome.
Extensions:
If you choose to have extensions on your wedding, communicate your hairstylist. Is better to apply the extension in advance so you have time to match the color and have a haircut if necessary. It's also an opportunity to get used to it and see if it suits you.
Do you usually wear your hair up or down?
Does your hair usually hold curls?
Do you feel more comfortable with middle or side parting?
Do you feel awkward with your ears or forehead exposed?
